New Indianapolis Technology Services Company

I recently started a new Technology Services company in Indianapolis with Adam Strobel. Gruuv Technologies has been growing immensely since inception in 2010. The thing that really separates them from the competitors are a few things:

  1. We hire Engineers, not administrators. (more on why below)
  2. We put a heavy emphasis on strategy and planning with our clients.
  3. We are the only company to offer Gruuv Co-Source, a solution that brings the cloud to you.

While Adam Strobel was working as the Global Director of Technology for $500m biotechnology company, he became very frustrated with the level of service he received from his technology vendors. He heeded engineering support for SQL clustering, Microsoft Exchange transitions, Network builds, SharePoint development, etc, but he was always sent an administrator. He would constantly have to ask them to leave, as he was able to do a better job with his internal resources. Adam felt that if you reached out to a consulting firm for help, they better be more experienced or knowledgeable than your own staff. If they weren’t, why call them in the first place. (you would expect a lawyer to know more about law than you, wouldn’t you?) When Adam and I started Gruuv, we used this as a foundation… clients EXPECT our engineers to be stronger than their own people. If they need help in exchange, we better not send them someone that is not as good as their own internal resource. That expectation from clients has made Gruuv become one of the fastest growing service firms in Indianapolis. We have grown to 13 people (as of May 1, 2011) in just 6 months.

Strategy and planning is where so many of our competitors miss the boat. They seem to be only concerned with their current project, having absolutely no thought as to the future. At Gruuv, we are a strategic technology integration company focusing on data center management with aimed strategy of driving Microsoft integration as a constituent of a unified computing infrastructure. Our engineering consultants have the experience and technical skills to design and implement a full solution to fulfill your business needs. We ask where the business is going to be in one year, Three years and beyond. It is unnecessary for our clients to buy equipment that is not needed, if it does not fit into their overall business strategy.

Gruuv Co-Source (GCS) is a new offering that no one provides to date (that we have discovered).  Basically, with GCS, we take the best that cloud based services offers and remove the risk by operating it as if it is an in-house solution. With GCS, we will work out a 3+ year managed services agreement with our clients, where we handle the day to day operations of their IT infrastructure (systems, network and strategy). With this agreement, we will install our own hardware (based on client requirements we develop during a system audit, we will install the right solution, be it an HP DL 380 with Cisco switches and routers for connectivity and a Xiotech SAN for storage, or a fully populated Cisco UCS solution), load our clients systems onto it and manage it through an SLA. We will also offer to hire one or more of our clients staff to be our on-site system/network administrator, as they have an immense amount of IP regarding our clients technology operations. over time, we will provide not only managed services, but also any engineering and implementation services to assure our clients stay up with technology. Essentially, we provide cloud hosting at our clients facility. Cost savings can be huge!

I am excited about the changes we are bringing to world of technology services and the innovations we bring to change the way our clients look at these firms. Be sure to follow us on Twitter – @gruuvtech
